Why Silkies?
Silkies are a unique breed of chicken known for their fluffy plumage resembling silk or satin. They have a gentle nature, making them great pets and mothers.
We enjoy watching them as part of relaxing for the evening. They each have their own personality. Some of them will run to you for treats while others will watch the others before approaching.
Cruella ... the Rooster
Silkies chicks are really difficult to sex. We named a spunky chick Cruella due to her coloring. We truly thought she was a hen until she crowed. He is vigorous and throws babies in a variety of colors.
Our white rooster is such a sweet boy. He calls his hens for treats and dances so prettily for them. When we scoop him up for a walk he’s amiable and curious.

This white rooster is pigmented differently. His face is white. We politely asked about his family genetics but he declined to enlighten us. Five toes and soft feathers.

Come out for a visit and we’ll send you home with some chicks and a bag of starter chicken feed. Prices vary due to demand and availability. We hatch them in small batches so supplies are limited. If you are looking for a specific color let us know.
